FUNDING YOUR CIDER EDUCATION
Â
EDUCATION SHOULD BE ACCESSIBLE TO EVERYONE
The Cider Institute is committed to making professional cider and perry education accessible to people who are ready to learn, regardless of their financial circumstances.
Through the support of industry partners, cider businesses, organizations, and individuals, the Cider Institute provides financial assistance to help offset the cost of educational programs.
Â
OUR EDUCATION FUND
Since the program began, the Cider Institute has provided more than $65,000 in educational assistance to 34 recipients.
Financial assistance helps cidermakers and aspiring producers participate in Cider Institute programs who might otherwise face financial barriers to professional education.
Recipients are not publicly identified unless they choose to share their experience.
HELP MAKE CIDER EDUCATION MORE ACCESSIBLE
Your support can help another cidermaker access professional education and training.
OUR FOUNDING PARTNERÂ
ANGRY ORCHARD & THE BOSTON BEER COMPANYÂ
The Education Fund was established with the support of Angry Orchard, a brand of The Boston Beer Company, our founding partner in making cider education more accessible.
Angry Orchard's longstanding commitment to cider education has helped create opportunities for cidermakers to develop their knowledge and skills through Cider Institute programs.
We are grateful for their continued support and for their role in helping make professional cider education accessible to a broader community.
WITH SUPPORT FROM THE CIDER COMMUNITY
The Education Fund has also been supported by cider businesses, industry organizations, and individuals who believe in expanding access to cider education.

SUPPORT CIDER EDUCATION
HELP THE NEXT CIDERMAKER LEARN
The Education Fund exists because members of the cider community believe that access to knowledge and professional development matters.
Whether you are an individual, cidery, industry organization, or company, your support can help make Cider Institute education available to someone who might not otherwise be able to participate.
TIPS FOR FUNDING YOUR EDUCATION
Financial assistance from the Cider Institute is one option. Depending on your circumstances,
there may be other ways to offset the cost of professional education.
ASK YOUR EMPLOYER
If you work for a cidery, brewery, winery, orchard, or other food and beverage business, ask whether your employer offers professional development or continuing education funds. Consider explaining how the training could support your current role and contribute to your workplace.
LOOK FOR LOCAL FUNDING
Check with local agricultural organizations, workforce development programs, small-business organizations, and industry associations. Some offer education or training assistance to producers and small businesses.
CHECK PROFESSIONAL DEVELOPMENT BENEFITS
Universities, government agencies, nonprofits, and larger companies may offer professional development funds that can be used for relevant training.
ASK ABOUT TRAINING SUPPORT
Your employer or organization may be able to cover all or part of a course fee directly. The Cider Institute can provide course information, dates, and fees to support a funding request.
PLAN AHEAD
If you know you want to take a course, start looking for funding before registration opens. Some programs have application deadlines or require employer approval.
