Loch Mór Cider Company is an award-winning, orchard-to-glass cidery in Prince Edward County, home to over 3,100 trees, including rare heritage cider varieties.
With more than 50 national and international awards to our name, we’re in the midst of an exciting orchard expansion planned over the next 2–3 seasons.
We’re a small, tight-knit team, and this role offers the chance to work closely with ownership and shape the future of an already celebrated cidery.
As of October 1, new ownership will be taking over Loch Mór Cider Company. We’re building our team for this next chapter and looking for people who want to help carry forward and grow everything that has made this cidery special.
ABOUT THE ROLE
We are looking for an experienced Head Cider Maker to lead production at our cidery in Prince Edward County.
This role owns the full cider-making process, from apple sourcing and pressing through fermentation, blending, and final product, and works closely with our orchard and cellar team to bring an ambitious, award-caliber cider program to life.
COMPENSATION & BENEFITS
- $75,000–$85,000/year
- Profit-sharing bonus, to be negotiated
- Health Spending Account (HSA) with a $2,000 employer contribution in year one
- Annual professional development budget
- Annual product allowance
- Four weeks of paid vacation per year, timing to be coordinated with owners, particularly around harvest/pressing season
- Some relocation assistance may be available
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
- At least 2 full years of experience as a Head Cider Maker, or 4 full years of experience as an Assistant Cider Maker or Assistant Wine Maker
- Cidermaking Certification from the Cider Institute of North America (Cider Institute), or professional training through a college/university oenology or cider making program
- Must be a Canadian citizen or permanent resident of Canada
This position cannot be filled by candidates requiring work permit sponsorship.
