COURSE TERMS & CONDITIONS

1. Registration & Payment

Registration is confirmed upon receipt of full payment or an approved payment arrangement. Participants must meet any course prerequisites and be at least the legal drinking age in their jurisdiction unless otherwise stated.

2. Fees

Course fees include only the items listed in the course description. For online courses that include sensory evaluation, international participants are responsible for sourcing their own cider in accordance with local laws and Cider Institute of North America guidance. Unless otherwise stated, participants are responsible for their own travel, lodging, meals, visas, and other personal expenses.

3. Cancellations & Refunds

Participant cancellations are subject to the following policy:

• More than 60 days before the course: Full refund less the registration administration fee.

• 30–59 days before the course: 50% refund less the registration administration fee.

• Less than 30 days before the course: No refund.

With prior approval, a participant may transfer their registration to another qualified individual. At the Cider Institute of North America's discretion, a credit toward a future course may be offered in place of a refund.

The Cider Institute of North America reserves the right to cancel or reschedule a course due to insufficient enrollment, instructor illness, facility issues, force majeure, or other circumstances beyond its control. If a course is canceled by the Institute, participants will receive a full refund of course fees. The Institute is not responsible for travel expenses, lodging, lost wages, or other incidental or consequential costs.

4. Certification

Completion of a course does not automatically guarantee certification. Certification may require attendance, successful completion of examinations or assignments, practical assessments, and compliance with academic integrity requirements.

5. Participant Conduct

Participants are expected to maintain a safe, professional, and respectful learning environment. This includes following instructor directions and facility safety rules, treating others with respect, and refraining from harassment, discrimination, or disruptive conduct. 

Courses involving cider production may include tastings. Participants are responsible for complying with local laws regarding alcohol consumption. The Institute encourages responsible consumption.

Failure to meet these expectations may result in removal from the course or ineligibility to complete certification requirements. Participants are encouraged to report any concerns regarding conduct or safety to course staff immediately.

6. Intellectual Property

All course materials remain the intellectual property of the Cider Institute of North America of North America or their respective authors. Materials may not be copied, distributed, uploaded, resold, or shared publicly without written permission.

7. Photography & Recording

The Cider Institute of North America may photograph or record courses for educational or promotional purposes. Participants who prefer not to appear in photographs or recordings should notify staff before the course begins.

8. Accessibility

Participants requesting accommodations should contact the Cider Institute of North America as early as possible. Reasonable accommodations will be provided whenever feasible.

9. Limitation of Liability

Participation is voluntary. Participants are responsible for complying with applicable laws, including those governing alcohol consumption. The Cider Institute of North America is not liable for personal injury, property damage, travel disruptions, or indirect or consequential damages except where prohibited by law.

10. Governing Law

These Terms & Conditions are governed by the laws of the State of Oregon, USA.

1. License & Accounts

Enrollment grants a personal, non-transferable license to access course materials. Accounts and login credentials may not be shared. Users are responsible for maintaining account security and reporting unauthorized access.

2. Intellectual Property

All videos, publications, presentations, quizzes, downloadable resources, AI tools, and other course materials remain the intellectual property of the Cider Institute of North America or their respective authors. Materials may not be copied, recorded, reproduced, redistributed, uploaded, scraped, or used to train AI systems without written permission.

3. Platform Use

Access is provided only for the period specified at purchase. Users are responsible for maintaining compatible devices and internet access. Technical issues on the participant's end do not qualify for refunds.

4. Resource Library

The AI-powered resource library is provided for educational purposes only. Responses may contain errors and should not replace professional judgment. Users are responsible for verifying information before applying it in practice.

5. Academic Integrity & Community Standards

Participants must complete assessments honestly and conduct themselves respectfully in any discussion forums or online communities. The Cider Institute of North America reserves the right to revoke certificates or suspend access for fraud, misconduct, or violations of these Terms.

6. Privacy

Personal information is collected only as necessary to administer courses and is handled in accordance with the Cider Institute of North America's Privacy Policy.

7. Changes

The Cider Institute of North America may update these Terms at any time. Continued use of the platform constitutes acceptance of the revised Terms.
